On Saturday, September 12, Fantoni hosted in Osoppo the conference promoted by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia in partnership with Confindustria Udine.

Held as part of the celebrations marking the fiftieth anniversary of the 1976 Friuli earthquake, the event sought to combine historical memory with a forward-looking perspective, revisiting an extraordinary experience of collective resilience in light of today’s economic, social and industrial challenges.
In this context, the conference aimed to highlight the decisive role played by Friuli’s industrial system in the reconstruction and rebirth of the region, bearing witness to the deep connection between history, enterprise and community.
The conference, moderated by Marco Panara, journalist of the NEM Group, opened with institutional greetings from Lorenzo Tiepolo (Mayor of Osoppo), Roberto Revelant (President of the Assembly of Mayors of the Gemonese and Canal del Ferro-Val Canale territorial area), Barbara Zilli (Regional Councillor for Finance), Adolfo Urso (Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy), and Fausto Bianchi (President of Confindustria Piccola Industria).
The morning programme was enriched by testimonies, videos and live contributions from Friulian entrepreneurs who played a leading role in the reconstruction efforts, as well as by the presentation of the Bank of Italy study, The Economic Impact of Reconstruction, delivered by Sauro Mocetti, economist at the Central Bank’s Research Department.
This was followed by a conversation between Marco Panara and Daniele Franco (economist, former Minister of Economy and Finance and former Director General of the Bank of Italy, now Scientific Director of the Fondazione Cini), and a keynote speech by Eugenio Del Piero (former Director of Confindustria Udine).
The subsequent roundtable discussion focused on the strategic decision made at the time to prioritize industrial reconstruction. Participants included Riccardo Riccardi (Regional Councillor for Health, Social Policies and Disability, with responsibility for Civil Protection), Antonio Gozzi (Special Advisor to Confindustria on European Strategic Autonomy, the Mattei Plan and Competitiveness), and Sauro Mocetti.
Closing remarks were delivered by Massimiliano Fedriga, President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, and Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister of Economy and Finance.
