We are committed to a better 2021

Using resources sustainably

The investments under way in Osoppo to clean up and recover wood waste will enable us to reduce our use of virgin wood by 300,000 tons every year. Automation 4.0, innovative processes and 20 years of experience in wood recycling will make it possible for the first time ever to create an MDF panel made using over 50% recycled material. This technology, the joyous fruit of € 150 million invested over the past four years and currently being patented, will be brought into operation in April 2021.

Plaxil 5:
re-use and memory intertwine

The landscape of the Fantoni campus is constantly evolving with the acquisition of new technologies, but not everything that becomes obsolete is erased; rather it is recontextualised as part of a new whole where, between machinery and buildings, a new dialogue is developed on multiple levels. And so it is that the Plaxil 5 plant, the iconic “cathedral”, is changing function, but remaining to bear witness to a historic moment of growth for the company.

FSC®: LEGALITY AND THE CHAIN OF CUSTODY
The choice to obtain FSC® Chain of Custody certification serves to fulfil the need for transparent product traceability, and reflects an assumption of responsibility by the wood/furniture sector.

FSC® traceability

Fantoni products, be they panels, laminates, impregnated papers, furniture or sound-absorbent systems, are FSC®-certified and offer the market a guarantee of the source of the timber used, thereby providing precise, transparent and controlled proof of the company’s active contribution to responsible forest management. This helps to combat illegal wood trading practices and especially the illegal harvesting of trees, but it also leads to concrete advantages for local communities and workers, by ensuring economic efficiency and socially-responsible management. Carlo Ciussi’s “secular church” restored
Honourable Mention at the Compasso d’Oro for Woods
A space offering opportunities for growth, innovation and inspiration
Ninety years after the birth of the artist, Fantoni has restored the auditorium of the Research Centre in Osoppo to its original splendour.
We believe that it is precisely these periods in history that demand greater commitment to improving products and productions in order to sustain recovery.
Huge spaces and large volumes meant the interior designers had to focus especially on the ceiling coverings.
